- If you want to get a stronger kick, move two steps diagonally back. Go to the left if you are kicking with your right foot, and to the right if you are kicking with your left foot. By taking those two steps to the left or right, you will get more power in your kick because you will be also using your hips for extra power.
- Run towards the ball and place the foot you are not kicking with about a few inches away or anywhere the 'sweet spot' for your planting foot will vary depending on the person.
- Point your planted foot in the direction you want the ball to go. This is really helpful when you are trying to shoot the ball towards the goal.
- Bring your leg back and swing it forward with your toe pointed toward the ground. Hit the ball in the middle of it. You should strike the ball with the inside of your foot.
- Follow through sort of like a ballerina landing from a leap. If you lean your body in so that your body weight is pushed forward, then it will allow your follow through to be stronger, and thus your shot will become more powerful.
- Don't Lean back when you are done with the kick. This will help keep your balance, and ensure that the ball doesn't go too high in the air.
